Low-Calorie French Toast

This is absolutely the tastiest, healthiest, and budget-friendly French toast that you can make! It’s super easy to make and only takes a few, simple ingredients. The combination of whole wheat bread, low-fat milk, and egg make this a nutritious recipe! Get out your mixing bowls and frying pans, and let’s get cooking!

Recipe

Makes 6 small slices or 4 large slices of toast

  • 6 small slices whole wheat bread or 4 large slices
  • 2 large eggs or 1 duck egg
  • 1/2 cup 1 percent milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cinnamon (or more if desired)

Step 1

Get out a mixing bowl. Crack the egg(s) into the bowl, pour in the milk, vanilla extract, and then add the cinnamon.

Step 2

Get out a medium to large skillet, and turn the heat to medium-low. Spray the surface with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3

Dip a piece of bread into the egg-liquid, then place it onto the greased pan. Repeat until the pan is full.

Step 4

After about 3-4 minutes, or until the underside is brown, it’s time to flip the French Toast. After flipping, cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Once the French Toast is done cooking, remove it from the pan and onto a plate. Add your desired toppings to the French toast, and enjoy! I recommend nut butters, maple syrup, jam and jelly, powdered sugar, and fresh fruit.
