What Could I do More of?

Good time management is one of the most difficult things to achieve in this century. There’s so many things that can be done nowadays with so much advanced technology. You can fill an entire week’s schedule like a piece of cake. However, you must make sure that it’s full with things that you get excited about; things that feed your passions. I myself sometimes have trouble with this, because there are things I want to do, but my schedule is already full. But, there are no excuses for this; there are 168 hours in a week. Taking a close look at my schedule can help me figure out what I like doing, what I don’t, and what I could do more of.

In a typical week, I usually go to school. I prepare all my lunches and breakfasts during the weekend, and when I get the chance I like to go on long bike rides, runs, and swims. I absolutely love to exercise, learn, and eat healthy food, so I definitely don’t want to stop going to school or working out or meal prepping. However, I wish I could do more of one thing, and that is reading. I have entire shelves on my walls full of unread books, and there are still books that I want to get my hands on and read. I just don’t have time in my schedule to sit down and read for an hour or two. Nevertheless, I do get to read for a long time on the bus to meets for sports. That I really enjoy. If I finish my work in class early, I crack open my book and read a few. I love to read because it truly relaxes me unlike anything else, and I feel like I learn every time I do it. Many of the things I know now and have used I’ve learned from books; how to start a garden, how to find inspiration, how to better my writing, and how to improve my mental health. The more books I read, the more of this useful information I will obtain, which is why I love reading so much.

So, I wish I could read more. I’m not sure if I’ll change my schedule, as I’ll have more time to read during breaks, weekends, and meets. But, if I had more time, I would use it for reading.
