Energy is what gives objects the power to move. Without it, nothing in our universe would happen. Energy is something that can be felt, both in you heart and mind and with touch. It’s all around us; the air, the sky, the water we drink, and the food we eat all contain it. So, how do I harness energy, so I can benefit myself and those around me?
I of course consume food and turn it into glucose, which can then be used by my body to make energy. But I’m thinking of “energy” in the sense of a purpose, a duty in life, something you want to and should do. Whenever I give someone candy or tell someone I like their hair, I get a strange feeling. I suddenly feel more aware of my surroundings, and my face muscles start to form a smile. I can think clearer, and I have a strong desire to do it again. Another way I get energy is by doing exercise. Yes, it may sound conflicting that expending energy gives you “energy”, but I find that it really does. My favorite feeling in the world is taking a warm shower after swimming hard in the pool. Just taking a warm shower doesn’t give me the same feeling; it has to be after swimming hard. I swear I can feel the endorphins being released, and they make me want to smile and dance like nobody’s watching. I can think extremely clearly without worrying about anything else, which is why I’ve had some of my best conversations in the shower after swim practice.
Everyone’s way of harnessing energy is different. Some like to create a song or a work of art, and some like to converse deeply with others. No matter your way, you should strive to harness energy. Without it, you won’t work properly. It’s like when the power to your house is disabled. Suddenly everything is dark, and everything is much harder to do. The same is true for yourself. So, take care of yourself, and do what gives you energy.
