What I do to Relax

Okay, there are a ton of answers to this questions. There’s just so many things that I do to relax. But, I’ll try to pick out the ones that I do most and that are the most effective for relaxation.

First, I like to put on warm clothes, find a comfortable chair, grab a nice book, and just read. Reading takes my mind off of worries, as it gives me something else to give my attention to.

Second, I like to go for long walks. I like walking because it is a form of exercise, so if I am stressed and have lots of pent up energy I can use it for something productive. I also like long walks because it gives me plenty of time to think and be with my thoughts, and if my thoughts aren’t so pleasant I can focus on what’s around me in the environment.

And the third thing I like to do to relax is to do yoga. Yoga is also exercise, except you don’t have to go anywhere, so it’s more accessible. It is also very useful because it increases flexibility, which is important in both swimming and running, my two favorite sports. I like yoga because just like walking, you don’t really have to focus too much; you can just let your mind wander.
