This question is though for me, since I don’t really cry much from joy. But, It has happened to me before, when I see something very special.
What brings a tear of joy to my eye is when I see somebody do something from the kindness of their hear for others.
There’s just no other feeling like it. Watching a display of kindness makes me feel warm inside, like I just had a hot bowl of soup. It makes me feel grateful to be on this Earth, to be a human, with others who care about the wants and needs of their companions.
It’s really sad to me how there can be so much division in our world to day. I read a book called The Book of Joy, and in it the Dalai Lama said he cultivates compassion for others by thinking of everyone as equal human beings. That really resonated with me, as it’s easy to feel that people who aren’t like us are somehow worse. Thinking about everyone as the same breaks down invisible barriers between us, and we are free to love and care for each other.
So, what brings a tear of Joy to my eye is a simply a display of kindness. Not money, not fame, not any object, but the tendency of the human race to show compassion towards one another.
