My Emergency Plan

Alright, so say there’s a world emergency, or there’s going to be one. What am I going to do? I need to think of something!

Well, it really depends what kind of emergency it is. If there’s a zombie apocalypse, I’m going to need a lot of weapons to defend my house, or wherever I decide to live. All the stores will be closed as well, so I’d have to buy lots of canned food beforehand or raid the stores later.

If it was a nuclear apocalypse, I’d need to build a nuclear shelter to protect myself from the radiation. I’d also need lots of food. Actually, I could dig a giant underground shelter with a farm inside to feed my family. I could use Aquaponics to get protein from fish and fresh produce. I’m not sure if I would like living like this, because I love nature so much, but I wouldn’t have much of a choice. I do like gardening, though, and I would have a lot of time for reading, writing, and cooking.

If it was a natural disaster, like a flood, blizzard, etc., I would still need a lot of food, because it would be difficult to go outside to the store. I’d also need a backup generator if the power goes out, but that wouldn’t matter if my house was flooded. I would actually like a flood, though, because my family owns lots of boats, and I love to swim. My entire city would basically be like a huge pool! And if there’s a tsunami, which is unlikely because I don’t near an ocean, just on a lake, I’m grabbing a surfboard.

And finally, if there’s a giant meteor like the one that killed of the dinosaurs, I would either hide really far underground, or somehow get into space and live on another planet or the moon. It’s always been a dream of mine to go into space anyway, so it would lessen the sadness of the destruction of the Earth.

Hi Matt. My advice would be avoid raising fish or other animals and stick to only plant foods. B12 is a concern but planning ahead to keep enough around solves that problem easily. Living vegan is not only kinder, it’s healthier and less work. If you’d like to know more contact me!
